(New Orleans, LA) March 11, 2023 – Timothy E. Zerillo, founder of Zerillo Law, LLC in Portland, Maine, has been elected as a Fellow of the American Board of Criminal Lawyers (ABCL). The ABCL “was founded in June 1978 by San Francisco attorney Nathan Cohn, who conceived the idea of an exclusive national, legal, honorary society for outstanding criminal trial lawyers, with admission to fellowship by invitation only.” The standards for acceptance to the ABCL include success in major felony trials and exceptional recommendations from distinguished judges attesting to the candidate’s high ethics and litigation skills in criminal defense.
Attorney Zerillo is the only Maine lawyer ever elected to the ABCL. He also serves on the Board of Directors of the National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers, is a former President of the Maine Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers, is the author of the book Defending Specific Crimes and is a frequent lecturer on criminal legal issues throughout the United States.
